Voter Information
Every four years, residents of Sturgeon County elect a mayor, councillors, and school trustees. This year’s Election Day is Monday, October 20, 2025. Your vote shapes the future of our community and I am asking for your vote.
Who Can Vote?
You can vote if you are:
- At least 18 years of age on Election Day.
- A Canadian citizen.
- A resident of Alberta, with your place of residence in Sturgeon County on October 20, 2025.
Register to Vote
Sturgeon County now keeps a Permanent Electors Register. If you register in advance through Elections Alberta’s Voterlink, voting will be quicker and easier. The deadline to register is September 14, 2025.
If you are not registered before then, you can still register at your voting station, but it may cause delays.
Advance Voting
Advance polls are open at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre, 9502 100 Avenue, Morinville:
- Saturday, October 11 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Thursday, October 16 – 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday, October 18 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Election Day
Election Day is Monday, October 20, 2025.
Polling station locations will be posted here as soon as Sturgeon County confirms them.
Special Ballots
If you cannot vote at an advance poll or on Election Day, you may request a special ballot.
- Applications open August 1, 2025.
- Ballots will be sent starting October 1, 2025.
- Applications close October 17, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
- Completed ballots must be returned by October 20, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.

ID Requirements
You must bring identification that confirms your name and address. A driver’s licence is the simplest option.
